A B O U T

Franci was born in São Paulo, Brazil, the daughter of Japanese parents.  At a young age she studied ballet and music, and later graduated from São Paula University. She received a scholarship for studies to Osaka University,  Japan and awards for her language skills.  Being fluent in 3 languages, Franci began writing music and singing in 5 languages.

 

Originally discovered by the Grammy Winning New Age artist Kitaro,  Franci was invited to sing on his CD, “Sacred Journey of Ku-Kai – Part I”.   A song entitled “The Wind” which features Franci, played on commercials & radio throughout Japan.  The CD was nominated for the “Best New Age” Grammy Award in 2004.  Later she was featured on the Kitaro animation (Shigure’s Theme) for the “Ninja Scroll” soundtrack and CD.

 

In 2008,Domo Music Group, the label for Kitaro, released some of his most famous songs, now with lyrics, written and sung by Franci.  Franci wrote her own original lyrics for these Kitaro songs with the wonderful help of Mauro Malavasi (Producer of Andrea Bocelli) and Steven Sater (Winner of 8 Tony Awards in 2006, for “Spring Awakening”).  These songs were produced by Gary Barlough (Grammy winning engineer) and have been released as: “Stella Sings Kitaro”.

 

In 2012, Domo Music Group released Franci’s 11 song CD “Symphony of My Dreams.”  The CD features Franci singing with both Los Angeles based orchestra, and the Brazilian “Arte Viva” Symphony Orchestra.  Celebrated Maestro Amilson Godoy conducts the Brazilian Orchestra.  The CD features 4 songs of Kitaro with lyrics written by Franci.  Produced by Amilson Godoy and Gary Barlough, the CD has been sold worldwide, at over 50 different music sites.    

 

In July of 2014, NHK TV Premium featured Franci singing “Stelle’ as the ending theme song to the documentary-drama “MAGO NO NAMAE”.

 

In January of 2018, Franci was invited to sing the main theme for the NHK Premium TV Show, “HEISEI SASSAMEYUKI”, and she is now releasing songs with BIG UP Group of AVEX Entertainment, Japan.
